Looking for ideas

I want to take Heavy's control mechanics and cross it with a simple puzzle game (like match 3, etc) to end up with a hybrid genre thing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hey. Sorry to hear about ARZ; it seemed cool to me, but I had the same running-out-of-motivation problem with my word game. The feeling sucks, but then, not every idea we conceive will be worth taking all the way.

Anyway, I played the latest Heavy proto and, while I don't have a whole lot to go on, I do like it so far. As for puzzley ideas, maybe have cannons that shoot things other than the black goop...and then that stuff will give you some limited uses of other "abilities" or something. Sorry for the vague-ness, but...yeah!
